Indian Classical music lessons teaching harmonium and vocal trainingIndian Classical Music Lessons
Welcome to Neeta Bhargava Music.
“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.” Plato
India is rich in classical, folk and religious musical traditions. The origins of Indian Classical Music can be found in the oldest of scriptures, the Vedas. Classical music is continually developing and changing, and has become on of the major expressions of Indian culture, personifying integrity and unity of traditions.
Indian classical music falls into two broad categories – vocal and instrumental, however they should not be considered as entirely separate musical entities. Instrumental music theory supplements and aids vocal practice immensely. Monophonic in nature, Indian classical music is based around scalar patterns played in accordance to specific rhythms called taal.
The services that I provide centre upon the syllabus set by the Akhil Bhartya Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya Academy of India, and I specialise in teaching harmonium and vocal skills.
